This is my fourth year as Head Football Coach at Avonworth High School and things are more exciting than ever! There is a great buzz of support in the community, the student body and staff. The team has now come full circle and taken on the philosophy of "winning breeds winning." After a very strong summer training camp things are looking good for the 2008 season. We have a total of 50 players on the roster, with 17 returning letterman, 6 returning starters on defense, and 6 on offense. With these type student-athletes we have high expectations this year. This team is led by a talented group of 14 seniors, 10 of which have been playing for me since 7th grade. Among those seniors are captains Tim Werley, Justin Okinski, and Tyler Fatigante. The senior class is rounded out by John Battles, Conrad Branchen, Victor Creese, Wade Cupcheck, Joe Donovan, Jacob George, Hunter Godkin, Matt Richardson, Khiry Watts, Gene Williams, and Ben Winter. These seniors have a winning attitude and have been very positive in their leadership, the team believes. I hope you join us for this exciting upcoming season and support these young men on their journey this year.
